NYC’s 5 new hotspots for home goods

The label “design store” gets tossed around a lot these days, from Urban Outfitters to even Ikea. But if you look beyond the big-name shops, there are exciting independent boutiques cropping up all over NYC. Handsome, timeless pieces are on offer, including a Hector Saxe leather backgammon set ($875) and a Herman Miller leather chair ($4,900). It arrives in NYC with a full-scale minimarket of 230 objects at the MoMA Design Store in Soho.
