A new study shows that 59 percent of parents have a child living with them for more than a year after the kid turns 18. Not surprising.
One in five parents (23 percent) has an adult child living in the same household for more than five years. On average, the adult children are hanging around for 4 ¹/₂ years.
Here’s the punch line. According to this study, conducted by NerdWallet, about a quarter of the parents expect their children to help them financially when they retire.
These are the real dreamers.
What makes this even funnier — in a gut-wrenching sort of way — is the fact that Washington thinks it is going to tinker with Social Security without causing US seniors to dig into their old Anarchist Cookbooks.
