A newborn baby girl in Australia tipped the scales at nearly 13 pounds, with her mom calling her “a mini sumo wrestler.”

Exhausted mama Emma Millar, of Sydney, gave birth to not-so-little Remi Francis via c-section last week — and the 12.9-pound tot doesn’t fit into most of her baby clothes, she told the llawarra Mercury newspaper.

“She’s like a mini sumo wrestler. I did expect to have a larger baby … but not this big,” Millar said.

During her pregnancy, Millar had gestational diabetes— causing her body to produce extra sugar — which likely caused her daughter’s hefty size, she said.

After the birth, stunned strangers began stopping Millar to meet her big bundle of joy.

“When I’ve walked around with her there’s always a crowd of people — midwives, other new parents and visitors — around her, asking about her size because she’s so much bigger than all the other newborns.”

Millar and her husband, Daniel, have two other children, including a daughter who was born at 12.1 pounds.

In March, a baby girl was born upstate weighing more than 15 pounds.
