On Monday, former “Sex and the City” actress Cynthia Nixon announced that she would be running in the Democratic primary for New York governor in September against Gov. Andrew Cuomo — and not everyone is thrilled.

Millennials online are responding to the news of Miranda Hobbes’ candidacy the way you’d expect millennials to: with throwback memes.

And Twitizens were swept up in the controversy.

“Cynthia Nixon is like Arnold Schwarzenegger except with a degree from Barnard and without a secret love child so check the sexism at the door,” writes @KaivanShroff.

“Take note of how many times media has called Cynthia Nixon ‘the sex and the city star’ versus how many times they called you know who ‘the apprentice host.’ Also, only one of these is an iconic show,” writes @ReelTalker.

“Cynthia Nixon is running for Governor of NY. Has someone read her her Miranda rights?” writes songwriter @Diane_Warren.

We couldn’t help but wonder: Can #CuomosMTA ever be fixed?
