Wade Williams, 5, may very well be one of the youngest authors in history.

Inspired by the coronavirus pandemic, the Georgia preschooler was compelled to do anything he could to make the best of it, and not just for himself.

Wade’s father, Joshua Williams, who helped write the book, told CNN, “It all started by him saying ‘Dad, I really want to help. I really want to help people.'”

Despite his young age, Wade has had more hard-fought experiences than many would in his short life thus far, and knew he had wisdom to share — about missing friends and school, meeting his new baby sister and helping to care for his grandmother, who became very ill with COVID-19.

Published Oct. 2, “Wade Through the Pandemic” chronicles Wade’s journey through what may remain the most hectic year of his life.

Writing the book also helped Wade cope with the onslaught of big changes in the Williams family, according to his father, who knew others could relate.

“That was our sole purpose of writing this book,” said Joshua. “Just to let other children know, we know that this is a tough time.”

The proud papa added, “We’re not sugarcoating that everything is perfect. Everything is not perfect. But it will be OK.”
