Shaw’s Tavern in Washington, DC, is in hot water after promoting its bottomless mimosas brunch special on Twitter during the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her during an alcohol-fueled house party in high school.

“Open at 10 a.m. for the hearing. Bar service starts at 11 a.m. with bottomless mimosas,” the restaurant wrote on Thursday in a now-deleted tweet, People reported.

Ford testified during a Senate hearing that one night during the summer of 1982, a drunk Kavanaugh forced himself on her and tried to take off her clothes before she escaped.

Shaw’s tone-deaf promotion sparked online backlash, and the restaurant quickly apologized for its “oversight.”

“We would like to apologize for the feature of bottomless mimosas,” the post read. “We are opening early today serving our breakfast and lunch menus to provide a place for those who wanted to watch the hearing. Along with that menu, bottomless mimosas are a feature we offer. It was an oversight on our part given the very serious circumstances of today’s hearing and in no way did we intend to offend anyone or make light of the situation.”

Meanwhile, the restaurant said it donated all of yesterday’s proceeds to RAIIN, a nonprofit that helps victims of sexual assault.

The bar is known for peddling drink specials during major events on Capitol Hill, according to People. In June, Shaw’s offered $5 Russian vodka shots and an “FBI” sandwich featuring fried chicken bacon and iceberg lettuce, to honor FBI Director James Comey’s hearing with the Senate Intelligence Committee.
