This caused quite a splash.

A groom has gone viral after he pulled a seemingly “brutal” prank on his new wife right after the pair vowed to love and to hold ’til death do they part.

The video, which was posted on TikTok and gained nearly 11.4 million views, shows the happy couple running towards a pool with the apparent intent of jumping into it together.

At the last second, however, the groom hops to the side, staying on the deck while his new spouse went flying into the pool.

Soaked from head to toe, the not-so-blushing bride’s smile flickers as she swims to the end of the pool while her guests and new husband all watch in their dry wedding finery.

“That prank was brutal,” reads the video’s caption, while the in-video text asks, “Why did he do this to her?”

Several TikTokers were quick to make their own opinion heard.

“Wow. End of marriage” commented one user.

“The beginning of the end,” warned a second person.

“If that’s not a metaphor for the rest of their relationship, I don’t know what is,” cautioned a third person.

“That’s not a prank, that’s an immediate annulment,” said a fourth.

This cringey stunt is not the first time newlyweds have pranked each other after exchanging their vows.

One groom — identified as Ian Moore — decided that his wedding speech was the perfect time to reveal that the night he met his future bride, Katie, he went to fetch the couple some drinks, but when he returned, he found her kissing another man.

Moore finished the speech by joking he was “still nervous to go to the bar and leave Katie unattended,” before adding: “This marriage could be over tonight.”

At another wedding, one bride decided to roast her new husband for taking 15 years to pop the question by hilariously blowing off the dust that had accumulated on her written vows during the decade and a half she’s waited for marriage.
