MEET MARKET
Mike, a 26-year-old chiropractor, says he’s an energetic guy. He’s looking for an equally fit, positive girl to ‘get physical’ with. (Get your mind out of the gutter! We mean adventures and activities … of all sorts.)
Mariana, 33
project director
Describe yourself: Culturally, I’m a mixture of South American values with an Anglo sense of humor. Thus, a successful dinner party with my family ends with salsa dancing in the living room. I like museums, cooking, scuba diving and hanging with friends.
Guy type: Someone who wants to meet up with friends on a Saturday night vs. watch a DVD. Active, but no gym rats. He must be honest, my height and left of center politically.
Best asset: My long legs.
Biggest flaw: I’m a night owl.
Celebrity look-alike: My brother would say Lisa Simpson. My girlfriends say Penelope Cruz.
Tiffany, 27
editorial producer
Describe yourself: No drama. Loves sports (especially football and basketball). Great career. Likes to go out dancing. I’m best described as a “Tenderoni.”
Guy type: Someone I can be great friends with. He has a strong mind and the ability to challenge me in a subtle way. We have similar interests but can also be independent. Grounded. Emotionally stable. Passionate. Driven.
What’s sexy? A man holding your hand while you’re standing on the subway platform. It makes a very clear statement that you’re his girl.
Biggest flaw: The same reasons why I should not be single are exactly why I am single. I can be intimidating. I know too much about sports, but don’t know how to cook. My mom did not raise me to be in the kitchen. She raised me to be a working gal!
Pet peeve: When I feel like a man is trying to hide me from his female friends. I always think something’s up when they keep the relationship separate.
Katrina, 28
digital entertainment producer
Describe yourself: Outgoing. Risk-taker. Playful. Kindhearted. Self-confident. Daydreamer. Easily distracted. Charming. A romantic dork!
Guy type: Someone who can take charge but likes to laugh and doesn’t take themselves too seriously. A hard worker. Someone who’s successful, confident, funny, happy and likes to cuddle.
Good times: I love great dinners, movies, TV, people-watching, shopping, walking my dog, exploring NYC and drinking hot cocoa (my version of coffee).
Best asset: My chest, and my sense of humor. I’m the first one to laugh at myself!
Pet peeve: Nose pickers!
