Glitter is the herpes of the craft world — but single women are using it for protection.

A woman went viral on TikTok after she shared that she always covers her body in glitter before going on a date.

The video shows content creator Dalia Grande wearing a black dress and spraying glitter over her entire body as she got ready for a date.

“Going on a first date [because] I’m at the age where they could be married (married men HATE glitter),” she wrote on the video.

“Just to be safe,” she captioned it.

The dating theory goes that if the man is married, he wouldn’t try to get intimate with her because it would get all over him and his wife would know he was with another woman.

People in the comments were impressed by the move, with many saying they were going to try it out for themselves.

“She’s protecting herself and helping other women out I’m here for it,” one person wrote.

“I hated glitter before I got married, but this is actually a pretty good idea, girl,” someone admitted.

“Ma’am. First off, you’re gorgeous. Secondly, you’re a genius. Lastly, how glittery is your hallway? lol,” another commented.

“That amount of glitter spray will repel married men, mosquitoes, bears and vampires,” quipped another.

Some said they were going to do the opposite to let the girl know before the date even begins.

“Damn, I’m gonna start wearing glitter and hugging my man before he goes out… UNO Reverse,” one quipped.

The idea of using glitter to catch your significant other cheating has gone viral on TikTok before.

TikTok users have previously posted videos showing their method of using glitter to investigate their partners’ fidelity, including some who successfully caught their lover sparkle-handed.

For example, one person put glitter in the passenger side sun visor of her boyfriend’s car to reveal whether anyone was riding shotgun — particularly an unsuspecting woman attempting to touch up her makeup.

Others in Grande’s comments shared their own tricks to catch if men are cheating.

“Many married men are named on the same car insurance as their wife, check the glove box for too many names on the insurance card; could be his mom, or ex-wife… maybe,” one shared.

“One time I sprayed my perfume while I was in a guys car and he got mad because he wouldn’t be able to get the smell out before he picked up his next date. Stay safe ladies,” another said.
