Dating someone who shares your faith can be key for many people. When Regan, 35, and Reggie, 40, met up at Tasca Chino in the Flatiron, they were both pleased to find they had religion in common.
But would their love of God translate to love for each other?

Regan was physically attractive, definitely my type, and I loved the fact that we both felt comfortable talking about our faith in God.
She told me about her son. Normally, I shy away from single moms, but this time I felt different — I could tell she was a great mother by the way she talked about him.
We also talked about our love of music: We both love Jay Z, but disagree over Kanye. It took some time for me to really see her fun side, but she began to laugh and smile.
We had a nice corner table at Tasca Chino, and ordered some seafood and beef tapas, which were quite good. She’s a vegetarian; I’m not.
We exchanged phone numbers and extended an open invitation to each other to meet up in the near future. But it felt more like this could be the beginning of a nice platonic relationship.

Reggie was not what I typically go for in the looks department. His height was good, but I like my men more toned. Also, he’s bald, which doesn’t really do it for me.
But he seemed like a nice enough guy and greeted me with a big smile.
We talked about his previous job at Bad Boy Records, my love of music, various travel destinations he’s been to for his missionary work, our churches and watching wrestling with my son.
I like that he has strong faith in God and is into traveling.
Tasca Chino has a good location, great menu — even for vegetarians. I’d definitely go again.
Reggie was good company, but I didn’t feel any romantic chemistry, and that’s kind of the point of these things, isn’t it?
