It’s January 2022 — and the stars are already making waves as soon as we are out of the gate! There will be lots to look forward to in January, so pull up your calendar and jot these dates down so that you can plan on how to use the stars to your greatest advantage.
The overall theme of January 2022 is nostalgia
Venus, the planet of love and relationships, will be retrograde all month until Jan. 29. This means that you’re likely to be reflecting on the past, as well as crossing paths with old friends, exes or people you once knew. Don’t get married, start a relationship or change your look this month.
Mercury retrograde returns
Yes, it’s true. The trickster planet of communication will be slowing down from the very start of the year until he turns backward on Jan. 14. Don’t sign contracts, launch business plans or make major decisions if you can hold off. If you do have to (I know it’s Q1), try to lock them down immediately otherwise anything you agree to from Jan. 14 to Feb. 3 is going to need major adjustments down the line. Sorry. I don’t make the rules. I am just the messenger.
Good vibes are calling
As much as you may think a month with Mercury retrograde means it’s bad, that’s not the case. With Jupiter, the planet of luck, in Pisces now, we’ll be feeling more romantic, creative, social and spiritual. Also, Mars — the planet of drive — will be parading through Sagittarius most of the month, meaning that we’ll also be feeling courageous, spontaneous and eager to step out of our comfort zones!

- 1/16/2022: Today will be quite intense, for good or for worse. The sun and Pluto are tangoing and this can lead to power struggles, paranoia or profound revelations — take your pick. Avoid drama, turn off your phone for a bit and go take a nap.

- 1/29/2022: Venus finally wakes up today, meaning that all of that nostalgia, ex drama or moody relationship energy is going to slowly fade … when she reaches a faster pace by March. (Ha! You’re not in the clear yet — sowwy.) Starting today you can finally splurge on that fabulous new outfit you saw on Page Six or get that fierce new haircut you’ve been dying to try. Yes, you can soon “go official” or get married with your favorite boo, but wait until after Mercury retrograde ends on Feb. 3.

The Sun will be clashing with Uranus, causing all sorts of havoc, chaos, accidents and outbursts of anger. While you could feel this already approaching 1-2 days prior, today will be the brunt of it. Do not act impulsively. Stay out of the line of fire. Lock your doors, don’t text your ex and don’t be a jerk!
