Her hotel suite came with a surprise guest.
Melinda Major was sleeping in a second-floor room at a Hampton Inn in Memphis, Tenn., when she woke up to the feeling of something enveloping her arm.
“I first thought, well it’s just my hubby trying to snuggle,” the Nashville resident wrote in a Facebook post about the chilling experience. “But then I quickly realized my hubby wasn’t with me!”
Instead, a green garden snake was slithering up her arm.
“I freaking flipped out!” she said. “Talk about my ninja skills coming out. I threw that sucker.”
After slamming the sneaky snake against the headboard, she jumped on top of her room’s desk — and remained there until a manager arrived.
“I’m not scared of many things but snakes — I can’t handle!” she said, noting that even photos of the reptiles make her uneasy.
Major had booked the room in preparation for a July 26th doctor’s appointment.
Despite the unwanted rendezvous, Major said she has no hard feelings against the hotel.
“They did compensate my room, so they took care of me,” she told FOX13, adding that she’d even stay there again.
Jason Arndt, general manager of the hotel, said the “safety and security of our guests is our upmost priority at all times. Upon learning of the incident, the hotel immediately removed the snake and alerted pest control who surveyed the room further.”
