A tough-as-nails kitty in Russia, who was shot with an arrow, clawed its way to a nearby house — despite losing the use of its back legs — to meow for help.

Tamara Yerofeeva, 65, found the stray cat in front of her home shortly after hearing its desperate cries for help, Central European News reports.

“I heard this awful screeching noise outside the front door and opened it to find out what it was,” she explained. “I saw the orange cat lying on the porch with an arrow sticking out of it and blood on the ground. I called police quickly because I thought the madman might still be around and might take a shot at me, and they took it to a vets.”

Authorities in the city of Kaluga, in western Russia, have tried to track down the person responsible for the sickening attack and are asking anyone to come forward who might know the person who shot the arrow, according to CEN.

“He is very sweet and tender,” Yerofeeva said, describing the unfaltering feline. “I can`t imagine who could possibly do something like this. And if he can shoot a cat, is there not a risk person might be next?”

The kitty has fully recovered the use of his hind legs after the arrow — which pierced both of his lungs and his diaphragm — was successfully removed.
