Almost like clockwork, TikTok is back with another online brain teaser.

The video-sharing platform is sparking a viral debate that just might rival 2015’s infamous “blue and black” dress — or was it gold and white?

TikTok and Twitter troublemaker Eric Tupper, 27 (aka @ectupper on both social media outlets), posted a video of a man on a swing set in Anchorage, Alaska, with this caption: “Settle this debate pls,” urging viewers to “like” if they think he is facing the camera — or “comment” if they think he is facing the building.

“We were staying in a house, and we noticed that person swinging,” Tupper told BuzzFeed Sunday. “So, we went on the deck and realized some saw him facing us, and others saw him facing away. So, I just took a few videos trying to prove which way he was facing. I just posted it on TikTok two days ago, and it started the debate.”

The grainy footage  — which he shot back in February but didn’t post until Friday — quickly racked up more than 154,000 likes on TikTok and nearly 40,000 views on Twitter.

The optical illusion also sparked a spirited war of words in the comments — much like the whole dress phenomenon did back in 2015. Don’t get us started on the “pink and white” shoe controversy of 2017; or the great “bird or bunny” debate of 2019.

Opinions are divided to say the least — with some saying it’s “simple physics,” while others document their theories with screen-grab evidence. These two tweets pretty much sum up the overall vibe:
