Tennis has created some of our modern day’s biggest and most controversial stars, from Serena Williams to Roger Federer to Novak Djokovic. Now there’s a bright new light on the courts: Morgan Riddle.
Never heard of her? Then maybe you’re not on TikTok, where the 25-year-old fashion influencer has more than 274,000 followers.
To be fair, Riddle’s fame is adjacent to that of her boyfriend, Taylor Fritz, the No. 1-ranked male tennis player in America and 12th in the world, 24-year-old Fritz defeated 22-time Grand Slam singles winner Rafael Nadal at the Indian Wells Masters, but Riddle was earning attention too.

Riddle has been making headlines for a while now, but her attention went through the roof at Wimbledon when she became a favorite of TV cameras. In fact, one tennis fan tweeted, “They showed David Beckham 4 times and [Riddle] 87 times.” Since then, she has become famous for her tournament style, gotten attention for her bikini pics and showed off her fabulous life as she travels around the world with Fritz on tour.
Now she’s getting camera ready for the US Open, which begins Monday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Queens.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, where “it was all about hockey,” Riddle admitted she didn’t realize that tennis was “such a big professional sport” until she started dating Fritz in 2020. “I definitely didn’t know who Taylor was,” she said.
But when she saw him on the referral-only dating app Raya, Riddle swiped right without much thought. “My song was ‘Sunflower’ by Harry Styles and his was ‘Sunflower’ by Post Malone and Swae Lee,” she said.
Their first date was limited by early 2020’s pandemic lockdown and turned into a sushi takeout night at Fritz’s Los Angeles home.

At that point, she had never even played tennis. Now, she said, “We will hit around every now and then, but I don’t think I’m much fun to play with because I’m not very good.”
After rooting for Fritz at countless matches and tournaments over the past two years, however, she’s become “invested in the game” — and has taken it upon herself to turn all of America onto tennis.
In February, she posted a TikTok, which has since received more than four million likes, captioned: “On a personal mission to make tennis cool again.”
Riddle posted a TikTok of herself recreating one of Princess Diana’s iconic Wimbledon looks for the tournament this year.
Her approach: While Fritz is on the court hitting backhands, the full-time content creator is serving looks — some of which channel Princess Diana, who was famous for her Wimbledon style.
Last month, on day six of Wimbledon, Riddle re-created one of the late princess’ more casual looks: a white tank top tucked into a pair of white trousers, finished with a black Louis Vuitton purse.
Riddle has become somewhat of a style icon at matches herself, with plenty of fans. One tweeted during Wimbledon, “Nadal is a legend, but am I the only one that was rooting for Fritz so they would show more shots of Morgan Riddle on the broadcasts?”

To finish off her Princess Diana-inspired outfit, Riddle added a pair of black sunglasses and a matching Louis Vuitton purse.
“It’s weird,” Riddle said of the newfound fame. “The attention … kind of all happened at once, but I am adjusting to it.”
And she’s cannily calculating how this attention can benefit her career as an influencer.
“I love sharing content and my life online. I have a natural entrepreneurial spirit, so I can see that transitioning into maybe a product line or a business,” said Riddle, who graduated with a degree in English literature from Wagner College in 2019. “I don’t exactly know what that is yet, but I am confident about the future.”

She also pointed out that, while her life certainly looks glamorous, it’s not like she and Fritz are lounging on some beach.
“It looks like all we do is travel, but we have actually only been on, I think, two vacations together. We do travel a lot, but it’s all work-related,” Riddle said. Unlike basketball or football, which requires mostly domestic travel, tennis takes players and WAGs (wives and girlfriends) all over the world, including Paris and Dubai. “Paris is probably my favorite place to visit,” Riddle added.
When Fritz is practicing, she hits the cobblestone streets eager to explore — sometimes with other players’ partners. “During the last French Open, Ivana [Nedved, the girlfriend of American tennis player Sebastian Korda] and I went to the Louvre together,” Riddle said. An avid art fan, she tries to visit a city’s most famous museum while there.

For the US Open, Riddle plans on staying at her favorite hotel, The Standard, High Line.
“My ideal day in New York would start at H+H Bagels on the Upper East Side. Then I’d walk over to the Met and spend the day there,” she said. “If I have time, I’d do one of the 30-minute facials at Glowbar.”
Whenever she travels, her favorite activity is “to just walk around. That’s the best way to really explore and get to know a city,” Riddle said.
At matches, however, she’s hyper-focused. After all, she’s on a mission to make tennis cool.

And when it comes to seeing Fritz win, she’s sanguine about it.
“With tennis, unless you win the tournament, you’re losing every week. Every player on tour is losing every week except for one person, who ends up winning the whole tournament,” Riddle said. “I try to be there for him as best I can. And he likes to talk about it.”
And, in return, Fritz shows up for her too. “He gets me flowers almost every week, Riddle said. “So I would just say that the consistency of his thoughtfulness is appreciated. For me, it’s the little things like getting me coffee and flowers because he knows that those things make me really happy.”
