These mind-bending photos feature the smallest reptile on the planet — the stump-tailed chameleon — camouflaged by the undergrowth of Madagascar.
Taken by London-based wildlife photographer Sam Rowley, 20, in Masoala National Park, the photos capture the scaly reptile mysteriously blending in with its wooded surroundings.
The critter is only about 2 centimeters long — about the width of an index finger.
Rowley, who is a biology student at the University of Bristol, described his run-in with the miniature lizard in August as a “great experience.”
