Marathon runners tend to go home with a medal after crossing the finish line. But a lucky woman in Thailand also got a puppy.
Bangkok resident Khemjira Klongsanun, 43, was running a local marathon in January when, 7 miles into the 26.2-mile trek, she saw a small puppy standing alone on the roadside.
Klongsanun stopped in her path, scooped up the pup — a male — and kept running the remainder of the race with him in her arms.
After crossing the finish line and taking her new friend home, Klongsanun named him Chombeung — after the name of the marathon — where he now lives with Klongsanun’s two other dogs.
On her Facebook profile, Klongsanun posted a clip of the four-legged viral video star playing with the other pooches.
“Do [these] three brothers love each other?” writes Klongsanun.
We reckon they do.
