A young woman has issued a stark warning to “get your lumps checked” in a video showcasing an enormous cyst that grew on the side of her neck.

Holly Radford last month noticed a seemingly harmless bump on her neck grow into an enormous protrusion within a matter of days.

After having it assessed, it was revealed the lump was a benign brachial cyst that Radford said could have been there, though much smaller, her whole life.

A TikTok video message she posted after having the cyst removed has been viewed by more than seven million people.

“Major slay (get ur lumps checked),” her caption read.

She later revealed it hadn’t been an alarming size until a week this year during which it “literally grew this big within 2/3 days.”

“It’s a cyst that’s been there probably my whole life but only just got big this year,” she said.

Branchial cysts are non cancerous and while they are present at birth, they visibly appear at any age.

As was the case with Radford, many healthcare providers recommend having them removed with surgery.

Her video seemed to come as a much-needed warning to viewers, with one becoming distressed over a lump of her own.

“I literally have a little one that comes and goes. OMG actually crying right now,” she wrote.

Many others said they had cysts in a similar location removed.

“I went through the exact surgery to get a mass removed. It only goes up from here,” one said.

“I had one exactly the same! Got it removed three years ago,” another wrote.

Someone else said they were “having the same surgery done on Monday.”

“I also have one that’s just started to be a problem,” another person said.

Radford showed photos of herself having made a full post-surgery recovery, with only a small scar remaining of her former bulge.
