Tragedy struck yesterday when a fire fight between Mexican smugglers and US federal agents forced the closure of the fabled San Ysidro/Tijuana border — the bestest border in all the land. Dios mio, the out-of-work show donkeys alone could triple Mexico’s unemployment rate!!!

But don’t despair, all you San Diego Unified school kids — you’re not playing hooky in vain. The border reopened early this morning, so you’re once again free to move about Zona Norte.
