Don’t mess with The Chef, aka Clown Killer

No matter what side of the East Coast/West Coast war you’re on, you have to give it up for Barbados — maybe the only country on earth ever to have run a McDonald’s out of town.

Chefette, which is about as French as the mustard, was the lone gunman behind the assassination of Mayor McCheese, outperforming the sole Golden Arches on the island to the point that it went belly up.

Strangely, the 36-year-old native Bajan fast food chain — scattered about 14 convenient island locations (9 w/drive-thrus!) — has nearly the identical menu as The Clown: Burgers, fries, shakes, pizza, rotis, amorphous meat nuggets. Equally good, equally arterially-clogging. So how did David beat Goliath? Chefette has beer — an unfair fight from the get go. (Beer not available at all locations.)
