0900 – A leisurely drive out to Metairie for coffee and donuts at Morning Call

1030 – A stroll through the Quarter, which feels a little more cheerful than yesterday. Must be the beautiful weather.

1200 – Time to eat again. Luckily, Central Grocery is handy. Muffelettas. The Peroni pairs well with the sandwich.

1300 – We followed the live music to Jackson Square. Man, I am such a tourist. (And loving it.)

1330 – One of my favorite buildings. In typical New Orleans style, it is serving no great purpose. It’s just there, looking cool.

1600 – After a long day, which included plenty of disaster touring (yes, it’s still a mess out there!), we packed it in at Cooter Brown’s, in the Riverbend. Awesome draft beer list and good oysters (raw

and

fried.)
