This week sees the release of

’s annual Hot List issue and the magazine has once again crowned this year’s crop of top new global hotels.

Among the 60 winners are, naturally, ultra-luxury hot spots from Manhattan to Miami (The Miami Beach Edition) to the Maldives (Maalifushy by Como).

But list also features a nice range of lower-cost options including the artsy/beachy Rose Hotel in Venice Beach (from $175), The Singular Santiago (from $290) in Chile’s vibrant capital and Madrid’s chic Urso Hotel (from $210).

We’re all familiar with “last-minute” hotel booking sites like HotelTonight, but this month sees the debut of One Night Standard — a similarly styled app from the Standard hotels.

The first app of its kind from a hotel brand, One Night Standard provides users who book after 3 p.m. with the lowest-possible rates at all Standard properties in New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

The app is launching with special $99/night rates through May 3.

Just in time for next month’s Venice Biennale, two new hotels have opened in La Serenissima. On San Clemente Island, the 189-room St. Regis San Clemente Palace has debuted in a 17th-century monastery.

This private island property is only accessible via private water shuttle.

Meanwhile, on the equally secluded Isola delle Rose, JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa offers 266 modern-design rooms and a stunning, massive rooftop swimming pool.
