SNAP JAR: In the weeds
What’s hiding under the ground cover, nobody knows/Rob Mangione
In New Orleans, you eventually have to admit to yourself that it’s time to stop eating and get some proper exercise. I remembered what I consider to be a perfect spot for a hike — the Pine Beach trail at the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge. (Just mind the fire ants – they’re everywhere.)
The refuge is actually in a few different pieces, and it’s existence more crucial than ever, considering the amount of residential development that has popped up here in the last five years or so. This particular trail leads you to a really nice stretch of the area’s trademark white sand beaches.
