After years (years!) of anticipation, world’s largest tin bird (the Airbus A380) ever lands in Sydney, ending its first genuine passenger flight. (Well, sort of – seats on board were auctioned off on this and the return flight tomorrow.)

Singapore is the first airline to take delivery of one of the must-have new toys; low clouds and wetness dampened the triumphant entry, passengers too busy oohing about the vast interior of the plane (and, if they really ponied up, the double bed first class suites) to notice much of anything in regards to weather.

If you’re interested in seeing the A380 first hand, you’ll have to head East — for now, it will only be flying Singapore-Sydney.
