“Independence Day” came early in Texas this year.

New video captures the moment an apocalyptic-looking “mothership” cloud formation looms over the sky in the Lone Star State — in a scene that looks right out of the 1996 sci-fi blockbuster.

The time-lapse footage, taken in Amarillo on Saturday and obtained by Newsflare, shows the formation circling around the sky like a spaceship.

“This high-based beauty of a storm was long tracked, making its way across the Panhandle for several hours,” the videographer told the outlet.

“It created hype among the cities & towns it passed near, flooding social media with its majestic form. I decided to get a quick timelapse of the cell as it approached, making sure the quality was as crisp as possible.”

The person behind the camera actually captured a supercell storm — a violent thunderstorm with the capacity to produce hailstones bigger than baseballs, according to the Sun.

This particular supercell just brought lots of rain.

The swirling cloud formation also made an eerie backdrop for the wedding photos of Morgan and Manuel Monteiro.

“There is a saying ‘If it rains on your wedding, it’s good luck,'” photographer Brittani Preece wrote on Facebook. “So what’s the saying for when a huge Super Cell starts forming? I don’t believe there is one, but we need to make one for the Texas Panhandle!”

“I love a couple who does whatever it takes for a shot, right after this is poured on us!”
