According to Gen Zers, though, skorts are the newest must-have for summer and they are taking to TikTok to share their recent discovery to the dismay of the elder generations.

In the original video, TikTok user @talllivingtiny shared her find, marveling at “skirts that are shorts!” and sharing a mind-blown emoji to express her excitement. However, the clip was soon stitched with reactions from those who were quick to correct her — some with disdain for a seeming lack of fashion history knowledge but others, like in the video below, with the realization of their fleeting youth.

Honestly, we don’t mind the trend coming back around, as women’s clothing with pockets can be extremely hard to find, especially when it gets too hot outside for jeans and jackets. Aside from confronting our age, embracing the skort trend is easy, as they are sold in an array of colors, fabrics and sizes.

Even better, TikTok user @kaleerogersbeauty found her new favorite dress with hidden shorts underneath, sharing it with over 2.1 million viewers. We’re unsure if her find is actually a skort or more of a romper, since the definition of “skort” is a skirt and short hybrid, but it’s pretty fabulous nonetheless.
