So far, 2017 has seen its share of unconventional trends — the revival of frosted tips, $800 Birkenstocks and plastic-paneled skinny jeans, to name a few. But British fast-fashion retailer ASOS has surpassed our expectations with this glasses-with-earrings hybrid.

As Fashionista’s Maura Brannigan points out, the two-for-one accessory helpfully answers a question no one has ever asked (“How do I coordinate my earrings and sunglasses?”) while introducing a whole set of other issues. Among them: unstable, swinging hoops and, presumably, ear-chafing.

The odd mashup is currently available in three different styles (one of which is actually out of stock). There are clear lenses for those who wish to channel their inner librarian, round tinted lenses for scorching hot beach days, and a pair that comes complete with crystal “earrings” for when your aura needs a good cleansing.

Talk about double duty.
