Cupcakes have often been used to announce the sex of an impending baby.
Videos adorn TikTok of the gender reveal phenomenon, which sees a group of people bite into cupcakes, one of which contains colored icing.
And while the Russian roulette-type game is often played with close friends or family, one mom-to-be enlisted the help of a crowd full of strangers.
Her video of the special moment has since gone viral, amassing over nine million views.
Posting to her account, Marrisa Bailey shared the footage from the night of her gender reveal where she took her entire family out to dinner at a restaurant.

The family’s server even joined in to help reveal the sex of the baby.
To announce her big news, they all played the game where everyone takes a turn to bite into their cupcake.
But it quickly became apparent that no one was getting the pink or blue icing.
Each time, a family member would bite into their cupcake, look inside and… nothing… nope… nada.
Just the default white icing.
Even their waitress joined in, but still, no one was getting ‘the one’.
Gradually, the family caught the attention of fellow diners who were curious about the big reveal.
There were plenty of cupcakes to go around, so people at surrounding tables joined in to help the couple out.

The anticipation was brewing as the game seemingly went on forever.
FINALLY, a woman in the back of the restaurant jumped up after taking a bite of a cupcake and screams, “IT’S A GIRL!!!!”
The restaurant erupted into cheers and the happy parents-to-be hugged and cried as they celebrated.
By the end of the video, everyone is up on their feet and clapping for the couple.
Marissa captioned the clip: “The energy was amazing.”
“This is the best gender reveal ever. EVERYONE was excited,” the top comment on the video read.
Someone else pointed out that the woman who ended up announcing the gender was “genuinely so excited”, which makes the whole video.

Ultimately, most commenters just couldn’t get over how invested everyone was in the gender reveal and how happy they all were for the couple.
One person noted that the restaurant went from “a restaurant full of strangers to a restaurant full of brand new aunties and uncles.”
