This shelter has gone to the dogs.

Volunteers at an animal rescue in Iran care for more than 2,000 dogs a day.

A clip captured by Newsflare, that was taken Nov. 16, shows a sea of pooches rushing a man who had brought them trays of food.

At the Shelter of Kerman, the dogs are finally starting to receive proper care. Although the rescue opened five years ago, the previous owners reportedly did not give sufficient treatment to the animals, according to a volunteer named Soma.

“It was a horrible situation,” she said. But now, things are looking up. “Two months ago the lady I work with took over the shelter, and with a lot of hard work, we are now getting all the work done and feeding dogs and trying to make a better life for them.”

The dogs can be adopted by Americans through the Paws4Thought rescue, according to Soma.
