Because when it comes to the coronavirus, people need to wake up and smell the bacon.
Hormel Foods is allowing pork-lovers to social distance while enjoying their favorite aroma with new face masks that smell like fried bacon.
“We’re continually focused on innovation,” said Nick Schweitzer, senior brand manager at Hormel Black Label Bacon, Wednesday in a statement.
The fragrant face-wear, dubbed Hormel Black Label Breathable Bacon face masks, features “the latest in pork-scented technology with two-ply multi-fiber cloth to keep the delicious smell of bacon always wrapped around your nose,” per the release.
For added effect, the “irresistibly breathable” personal protective equipment is also emblazoned with images of the savory breakfast item.
Bacon-lovers can win a chance to bring home the “breathable bacon” by entering the contest at BreathableBacon.com through October 28. For each entry, Hormel pledges to donate one meal to Feeding America for up to 10,000 meals.
Fans can also share social-media snaps of themselves sporting a bacon mask using the hashtag #BreathableBacon.
Schweitzer said he hopes the raffle will connect “everyone’s favorite bacon scent to the year’s ‘it’ accessory” and “bring Black Label Bacon closer to our fans.”
