Cemetery workers in Staten Island were digging a new burial plot when they discovered human remains wrapped in a plastic bag nearby Monday morning, police said.
The remains were found at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mount Richmond County Cemetery at 420 Clarke Ave.
A police source said there was a human skull in the bag.
The remains were deteriorated and an identification couldn’t be made, cops said. The skull was turned over to the Medical Examiner Office’s anthropologist in Brooklyn.
