An Englishman was stunned when he opened up his new cell phone box — and found a can of sardines and a sponge.

“I didn’t know what to say when I pulled out what I did,” Greg Cundill, a 23-year-old aircraft engineer from Honiton told Metro UK.

“I don’t even like sardines,” continued Cundill, who said he would much prefer a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

“It’s a bit mad how I’ve been sent some sardines and paid [$80] for the privilege.”

While Cundill is upset he is still without a phone, he didn’t lose his sense of humor — posing for photos holding the can of sardines up to his ear like he was chatting with someone.

Both O2 — a cell phone provider in the UK — and the local mail service said they were investigating what went wrong.
