This is the moment a malfunctioning carnival ride turned into a terrifying near-death experience for a young girl in Paris.
The girl was on a ride on Sunday at the Throne Fair called Adrenaline — a giant swing that propels riders from nearly 164 feet high — when her seat harness unfastened as the ride descended, according to a translation by France Bleu. 
The malfunction sent the girl hurtling toward the earth upside-down, suspended only by her ankles, in a horrifying moment caught on video.
Her head ended up inches away from slamming into a platform at ground level as she swung back and forth.

Workers eventually were able to grab her arm and rescue her.
The unnamed girl was scared — but not hurt.
“It could have been a lot more serious,” a manager of the ride told France Bleu. “It’s a miracle the girl was not hurt.”
The fair said the ride would be dismantled as soon as possible.
