The force is strong with Alex Dodson.
The 34-year-old UK resident has turned a personal hobby into a money-making enterprise by transforming boring old log burners into iconic sci-fi characters, Caters News Agency reports.
A log-burning minion from “Despicable Me”Dodson’s very first creation came shortly after he purchased a welding machine. The do-it-yourselfer reconstructed a wood-burning stove to look like Darth Vader of “Star Wars.”
Once he posted a photo of the piece online, requests began to pour in from all over the world from people who wanted their very own.
“It’s nice to see all the positive comments people post about my work,” Dodson explained to Caters. “It really spurs me on to get better and more creative with my designs.”
Each sci-fi log burner costs between $217 to $304 and characters include minions from “Despicable Me,” Ringwraiths from “The Lord of the Rings” and stormtroopers from “Star Wars.”
