Forget the bayou — this crawfish was born in Brooklyn.

A rogue crawfish, possibly meant for a Louisiana-style boil, somehow turned up in Sunset Park, the NYPD’s 72nd Precinct tweeted Friday morning.

“Great work by Sector D, who spotted and saved a CRAWFISH. This little fella could of been run over, stepped on or even worst eaten!!” the precinct wrote in the tweet.

“I’m pleased to say this crawfish was released in the Hudson River. #NYPDProtecting.”

Police said the cops were driving in the neighborhood around noon on Thursday when they spotted the crustacean on the sidewalk and pulled over to capture it.

Once the crawfish was safely in their clutches, they brought it over to Pier 4 and released it.
