Not the kind of sideburns he was hoping for.

Alarming footage captured the moment an unconventional “flame haircut” literally — and perhaps unsurprisingly — backfired, leaving a teen with severe burns.

A clip of the harebrained moment is currently igniting the internet as gawkers marvel at the barber’s stupidity and the dangerous trend, which has millions of views on TikTok.

The inflammatory fiasco occurred on Oct. 27, after an unnamed 18-year-old went to a barbershop in Vapi, Gujarat, in India, Jam Press reported. He’d gone to get an unconventional procedure called a “fire haircut,” where hairdressers use fire instead of scissors to style a person’s hair like a cosmetic controlled burn, according to the Economic Times.

Unfortunately, this teen’s bake-over went up in smoke.

In the accompanying footage, the barber can be seen striking a match on a comb in preparation for the hotheaded haircut. However, things go south when the customer’s head goes up in flame a la the superhero “Ghost Rider,” whereupon the hairdresser tries in vain to extinguish the blaze with his comb.

The clip ends with the barber trying to beat at the boy’s still-smoldering head with a towel but to no avail.

The boy reportedly was left with severe burns on his neck and chest following the pyro-ponytail catastrophe, although his current condition remains unclear.

Investigators have since launched a probe into the incident, which they believe was caused by the chemical the barber used.

In an even more serious blaze in September, a hair dryer exploded in a salon in India, sparking an out-of-control inferno that claimed the lives of two men.
