An overzealous Texas cop is in deep “dew-dew” after he went on a ticket-writing binge citing residents for watering their lawns in defiance of summer-drought restrictions.

Turns out they hadn’t been watering – their lawns were simply covered with morning dew. And now, the red-faced mayor of Lakeside is assuring homeowners the tickets will be dismissed.

A bizarre new children’s book published in Australia depicts kids getting killed and badly burned.

On one page of “The Bad Book,” by Andy Griffiths, a young boy runs across a busy six-lane highway and a picture shows him getting hit by a car.

On another, a boy named Little Willy sets fire to his head with a match, uttering, “Soon I will be dead.”

While parents are up in arms about the book, it’s become an instant best seller with youngsters, who no doubt think all the gore is about as cool as it gets.
