It wasn’t a sex-ed refresher course for parents – it was a mistake.
That’s how administrators explained the X-rated font used on a spelling packet a third-grade teacher distributed to parents at an open house at the Pine Tree Elementary School in upstate Monroe.
The kinky font uses male and female stick figures in provocative poses to form the letters of the alphabet.

A pair of brazen ravens has been ripping the rubber blades off windshield wipers on cars parked at the visitor center at North Cascades National Park in Washington state.
Park officials have posted signs warning campers to cover their wipers with rags.
“The ravens could be bored, looking for a challenge – we really don’t know. Or maybe they have a fetish with rubber,” said a park manager.

The Florida Supreme Court has reprimanded and fined a Panama City judge for 14 admitted ethics violations – but it’s letting him stay on the bench.
Among the violations: jailing a woman because she couldn’t remember her address, and telling a woman in open court that she “needed to close her legs and stop having babies.”
Judge Richard Albritton also admitted to soliciting gifts and invitations to lunch and getting hunting trips from lawyers.

At least that’s what researchers at England’s Manchester University say. They report that many of those who regularly hear voices – an estimated 1 out of every 25 people – don’t seek psychiatric help and believe the voices have a positive impact on their lives.
Could it be the voices in their head told them that?

Scientists have discovered a shark that walks on its fins. The species was found in the undersea fauna off Indonesia’s Papua province by scientists from U.S.-based Conservation International.
They report the small, slender shark is a bottom dweller that uses its pectoral fins to walk across the sea floor.
