A mother and son stole a snake from a pet store – but were caught when they returned to get books on how to take care of it.
Sebrina Hill, 35, was arrested with her 15-year-old son after clerks recognized them as the purloining pair caught by surveillance cameras lifting a 30-inch boa from its cage.
The $300 pet was found in their home and returned to the Cleveland Heights, Ohio, shop.

The 22-foot snowman has been a hit with shutterbugs, but its charm is lost on Billy Powers’ Anchorage, Alaska, neighbors, fed up with gawkers clogging the street to see his icy sculpture.
“They just stand out there, in the middle of the road, talking about a snowman,” fumed Anthony Bahler.

A Georgia man fell into law enforcement’s hands – he crashed through a ceiling when cops came to his home to nab him on a probation violation.
Danny Butts fled to the attic when officers arrived at his Moultrie house to take him into custody.
“Normally, you have to crawl up there and root them out,” said Capt. Tommy Rabon.

Norway’s finance minister has vowed to collect tax revenues on strip shows despite an appeals-court ruling that tickets to the titillating performances are exempt from the Nordic country’s value-added tax.
Undeterred, Finance Minister Kristin Halvorsen said in a statement she wouldn’t appeal, but will instead train her sights on changing the law.

Putting a new spin on the concept of portable toilets, a man was caught on tape making off with a pub urinal.
Police in the English city of Southampton were hunting for the man who walked into the Royal Oak pub, ordered half a pint of beer and made several trips to the bathroom, where he carefully removed a urinal from the wall and stuffed it into a large backpack before walking out.
“He made a very, very expert job of dismantling it from the wall and turning the water off. A very professional job,” said impressed owner Alan Dreja.
