Letter carriers in Casper, Wyo., have stopped delivering to 24 homes because of attacks by a mutt named Butch.

Postmaster Susan Grey said the shepherd/chow mix has chased her carriers eight times since 2002.

Residents must now retrieve their mail from a community mailbox outside Butch’s territory.

If an iguana in a Belgian zoo doesn’t drain his lizard soon, he may be dismembered.

Mozart has had an erection for six straight days following a mating session, and zookeepers say his penis may have to be amputated.

A spokeswoman for the Aquatopia Zoo in Antwerp said, “I imagine that if you’re a man and you look at Mozart, it hurts.”

Even if amputation is necessary, Mozart would get a second crack at love. Iguanas have two penises.

While we’re on the topic of cutting, it seems marketers at a Dutch margarine company are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

A promotional campaign for the margarine that involved sending knives to 200,000 homes backfired when three kids were hurt.

Unilever had included a small knife with a metal blade in the promo letter, but after the kids were hurt and 50 parents complained, the company sent a second letter asking families to discard the knives.

A German con man escaped a maximum-security prison by hiding in a cardboard box and mailing himself to freedom.

Authorities believe Max Friedener, 28, climbed inside the box while it was in the Darmstadt prison mailroom awaiting shipping. His escape was noticed when the mail truck toting the box arrived at the sorting depot and postal workers found a hole in it.

Speaking of great escapes, an Australian diver freed himself from the jaws of a great white shark after the man-eater partially swallowed him head first.

Eric Nerhus, 41, suffered a broken nose and cuts but was otherwise unscathed after the attack off Cape Howe. Paramedics said his lead-weight vest bore the brunt of the bite.

“He’s super fit,” said fellow diver Dennis Luobikis. “But I would say that would test anyone’s resolve, being a fish lunch.”
