It wasn’t exactly a high-speed chase.
West Virginia police arrested a man accused of drunken driving, but not before he tried to outrun them – on his lawnmower.
As Michael Ginevan pulled away, an officer gave chase on foot, and eventually yanked him off the riding mower.
Cops found a case of beer strapped to the front.
Ginevan was charged with drunken driving, fleeing police and obstructing an officer.

A Nevada woman received word from God – on a highway off-ramp.
Carla Dupree, 29, gave birth to her fifth child as she pulled off a Reno freeway, and says that was a sign from God not to have any more children.
“I had him on the freeway,” she said. “This is the last one. God is telling me something.”

Developers in Seattle have decided to build a commercial project around the home of 86-year-old Edith Macefield after she refused their $1 million offer to move.
“I don’t want to move. I don’t need the money. Money doesn’t mean anything,” she said.
Now she’ll live with the five-story construction project being built around her home.

Customs officials in the Philippines found live scorpions and spiders in a package they intercepted as it arrived from Hong Kong.
“The scorpions almost bit the examiner,” said Nelson Ebio, of the Central Mail Exchange Center in Manila.
The 300 creatures – which included tarantulas – were packed in nets, bottles and plastic boxes that were concealed under clothes.

In a country known as a haven for sex tourism, you wouldn’t think people would be shy.
But a Thai bank has started handing out condoms to customers because people in the country are often too embarrassed to buy them at a store.
The “Condoms for Confidence” campaign makes the prophylactics available at 600 branches.
