Switzerland’s popular cervelat sausage could be sliced off the menu by the end of the year because of a shortage of a key ingredient – cow intestines.

The Swiss wolf down 160 million cervelats a year, but due to a European Union restriction on imported Brazilian intestines because of a mad-cow scare, the sausage may soon be hard to find.

A British mom gave birth to two babies a minute apart – but they weren’t twins.

Charlotte Mullineux, 28, of Essex, had a rare case of superfetation – where the body keeps releasing eggs for fertilization even after a pregnancy.

The first child, Thomas, came at 6:32 p.m., weighing 5 pounds 6 ounces, followed by Harriet at 6:33, tipping the scales at 4 pounds 1 ounce.

The proud parents said their kids were conceived three weeks apart.

A 56-year-old German man was treated for serious burns after mistakenly taking a swig of gasoline from a flask and spitting it out – only to have his cigarette ignite the fumes.

Police in the northeastern town of Gross Godems had no explanation for why the gas flask was in the apartment.

A Polish man returned from a fishing trip only to find he’d been declared dead – and bureaucrats won’t believe he’s alive.

Piotr Kucy, 37, of Swinoujscie, said friends identified a body that had washed ashore as him – and that was good enough for the local authorities.

“I stood there in front of them and said, ‘Look, I’m alive,’ but they wouldn’t accept it,’ ” Kucy said.

“When I got back and my relatives saw me, they passed out. They had already buried me – and there I was, alive.

“Five months have passed since then and nothing. I have to work, insure myself, but I can’t because I’m still dead!”

Feminists everywhere, arise. A female shark gave birth to a pup at a Hungarian aquarium and there wasn’t a male shark in sight, the director said.

Attila Varga, the director at the Nyiregyhaza Centre, said Ibolya, its white-tipped reef shark, had a virgin birth.

“It’s the first time a pup born asexually is known to have survived,” Varga said.
