WEIRD BUT TRUE
What would Weird but True be without a sasquatch sighting?
Two Ontario women said they spotted the legendary mystery creature while picking blueberries approximately 150 miles northeast of Winnipeg.
“It was black, about 8 feet long and all black, and the way it walked was upright, human-like,” said Helen Pahpasay.
“It didn’t look normal.”
Well, Helen, to another sasquatch, it did.

How did they get it out of there?
British police are searching for a shark stolen from a pet shop. The female, 2-foot long Australian marbled cat shark is one of a breeding pair.
“I’m just very angry, really,” said shop owner Peter Newman.
“They probably would have taken the pair, but the male’s a bit harder to catch.”

Sixty-nine’s a charm.
Pauline Newsholme of England celebrated her 69th birthday by running her 69th marathon.
The effort was to raise money for a children’s charity she has supported ever since her daughter became paralyzed at the age of 6 due to a rare complication from measles.
In all, Newsholme has raised $40,000.

Here’s a story about a drunken shrew – and it’s not some guy’s nagging wife.
Scientists have discovered that Malaysia’s pen-tailed shrew lives entirely off a diet of beer.
It feeds off the flowers of the bertram palm, whose nectar is about 3.8 percent alcohol – the equivalent of a light beer.
Amazingly, the tiny creature never gets drunk.

At least they had enough heart to let this guy get it on with his bride before arresting him.
Chinese police waited two days before arresting a man so he could marry and the bride’s family would not lose face in front of their guests.
They arrested him the morning after.
