Blowing off jury duty cost a Texas man 83 days behind bars.

A Collin County judge released Douglas Maupin, 34, over the weekend and called his lengthy confinement “unacceptable.”

Maupin was arrested on Feb. 15 after cops pulled him over for speeding and flagged his 2003 warrant for failure to appear for jury duty.

Two men in Pullman, Wash., thought they were urinating on a parked, empty car when the enraged owner stepped out swinging a golf club.

Both were struck, and one suffered a possible broken arm.

A federal grand jury indicted a Florida woman for allegedly keeping her dead mom’s body in a bedroom for six years to collect more than $200,000 in pension benefits.

Penelope Sharon Jordan, of Sebastian, was charged with Social Security fraud and could face up to 15 years in prison after cops found the decaying body of her mother.

The cops were originally called to investigate a report of nuisance cats.

The Web site ancestry.com has posted copies of German telephone books from 1915 to 1981 — including Albert Einstein’s phone number while he was a university professor in Berlin.

Back then, just asking for 2807 got you a direct line to Einstein. Adolf Hitler’s longtime gal pal, Eva Braun, also shows up in the 1937 Munich directory.
