Two off-duty coroners in State College, Pa., showed they’re pretty good with the living, too.

Judy Pleskonko and Debra Smeal, still in scrubs, were having dinner at a steakhouse when a 15-year-old boy started choking. Pleskonko performed the Heimlich on the teen, and both women coached him to breathe until an ambulance arrived.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is steamed that state highway workers painted over a patriotic artwork, just before July 4th.

Three artists had painted a huge American flag on Sept. 24, 2001, to honor those who died on 9/11.

Arnie’s anger has prompted transportation officials to contact the artists and arrange for the road painting to be redone.

A Michigan family is chickening out of court.

Andy and Sharon Peters — loving owners of Beaker the rooster — have decided to send their family fowl to a rescue ranch rather than peck away in state appeals court.

Lower courts have ruled that Beaker violates codes that prohibit farm animals in residential areas.

A public golf course near Bismarck, ND, has taken a new approach to clearing weeds: goats.

The Hawktree golf course brought in two goats at the start of the season to snack on overgrowth at the 16th hole.

It’s worked so well that three more goats were added and players have enjoyed petting and feeding the groundskeepers.

Recycling saves lives!

Two Vancouver, Canada, teens fell seven stories down a building shaft — but were saved from serious injury by trash awaiting recycling at the bottom.

The 18-year-olds had climbed to the top of an apartment building to watch Canada Day fireworks when the cover over a shaftway collapsed and sent them tumbling.
