It’s never too late.

A Laysan albatross, believed to be the oldest wild bird in the United States, is a brand-new mom.

The bird, banded by scientists in 1956, when she was 5, was spotted with her baby in a remote wildlife refuge 1,300 miles northwest of Honolulu.

Animal oddities, Part II:

A dog may be man’s best friend, but this Doberman’s best pals turned out to be dolphins.

A woman vacationing on Marco Island, Fla., said she “saw these two dolphins, and they were splashing around and making this big commotion.”

When she and her husband went to investigate, they saw a half-submerged dog marooned on a sandbar, too weak even to bark.

They called for help, and firefighters rescued the pooch, which had disappeared from a nearby home 12 hours earlier.

After a decade on the run, an Italian drug trafficker is in jail — because he couldn’t resist his mom’s lasagna.

Cops said Giancarlo Sabatini went into hiding in 2000 after his conviction.

Acting on a tip, they staked out the homes of the fugitive’s wife and daughter in the town of Rocca Priora.

When they spotted the younger woman leaving her mom’s house with a tray of lasagna, they just followed the pasta.
