They really drove each other insane.

Two hotheads are facing criminal charges in a crazy road rage incident that left one driver clinging to the hood of an SUV — for more than three miles — as it sped 70 mph along a Massachusetts highway.

The chaotic scene caught on video shows Richard Kamrowski holding onto Mark Fitzgerald’s white Infiniti for dear life as it barreled along the Massachusetts Turnpike on Friday, NBC10 Boston reported.

Police say Kamrowski, 65, jumped on the hood of Fitzgerald’s vehicle after the two motorists were involved in a minor sideswipe accident on the westbound side of Interstate 90 near Interstate 95 in Weston.

“I felt that he bumped me, and I kind of, you know, was pushed up,” Kamrowski told NBC10 Boston.

Fitzgerald, 37, took off and tried to toss Kamrowski off the car by speeding as fast as 70 and slowing down, police said. At one point, he even turned on his windshield wipers.

“I thought he was going to run over me,” Kamrowski said. “I don’t think he stopped. He kept going fast, slow, fast, slow, to get me to slide off.”

Fitzgerald only stopped when other drivers intervened and boxed in his vehicle on the busy road, authorities said. One motorist was caught on camera pointing a gun at Fitzgerald.

The resident of Lynn was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Kamrowski was charged with disorderly conduct and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

Both will be arraigned Monday in Waltham District Court.

“I was assaulted. That’s it. I just kept telling him, ‘Stop the car, stop the car,’ and he wouldn’t stop,” said Kamrowski, who claims Fitzgerald swerved into his lane and scraped his car.

The armed driver was later found to have a license to carry and was not charged, CBS Boston reported.
