It’s the tot that counts.

A woman was left feeling salty upon learning her holiday bonus this year was coming in the form of a potato.

“My work is doing a potato bar as our Christmas bonus. I’m literally getting a hospital potato as a bonus,” Amanda J Panda said on X in a post that has since gone viral.

“They also said it has a $15 value so it will be taxed on our next check. Does anyone need an assistant so I can just quit right now?”

The flummoxed worker sent off a series of tweets describing the bizarre gift, calling the situation her “Charlie Brown villain origin story.”

She admitted, however, that the measly potato bar gift was an improvement over the previous year’s gift, which was a 30-minute video conference call with the company’s leadership.

Panda appeared to ultimately lean into the food present, asking her followers whether she should take advantage of the potato bar.

“Idk, you guys, do I show up with Tupperware and just get my $$$$ worth in sour cream?” she wrote.

The tweet — which garnered more than 2.7 million views — attracted hundreds of commenters, who were equally astounded at the offbeat bonus.

“So potatoes are now currency. I filled my gas tank yesterday, it cost me 2 Idaho bakers & a red skin,” wrote one user.

“I think you should bring a potato cannon to the party and let it fly,” wrote another.

Plenty of users pointed out that taxing the food seems immoral, if not illegal.

“Can you deposit it in your 401k?” one asked, while another questioned: “So that means you have to give 25% of the potato back?”

Another offered a simple solution: “Cut it directly off the potato and drop it off with payroll.”

Several others offered links to standard taxation laws in the workplace, and others suggested making a complaint with the company’s human resources office.

Many also suggested quitting and finding a better workplace.

“People telling me to start a fight or a riot, girl, I need my job,” Panda wrote back with a laughing emoji.

She seemed to enjoy her unusual gift, sharing an image of her loaded baked potato with her followers just days later.

“The moment you’ve all been waiting for, my $15 taxed potato,” she wrote alongside the photo.
