Talk about a blast from the past.

A woman in British Columbia was reunited with her junior high school ID she lost 41 years prior.

A homeowner in Nanaimo, a city on the coast of Vancouver Island, was digging a fence post in his backyard and happened upon a purse inside a hole in a rock.

Inside the bag, he found an intact Wellington Junior Secondary School student ID card from 1981-1982, which he turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The police contacted the student, known only as Lori, who was skeptical at first. However, once she received an email with a photo of the junior high ID, she was amused.

I’m thinking the purse had probably been stolen and the thief had dumped it in the hole,” she told the police department. “Over the years, I probably just forgot about it.”
