The floundering Daily News has shown another longtime company executive the door.
Tony Puterio, a 30-year veteran who rose to vice president, editorial administrator at Mort Zuckerman’s circulation-challenged paper, was quietly handed his walking papers about two weeks ago.
Puterio was known as the “new Eddie Fay” — a person who earlier famously survived ownership upheavals, strikes, bankruptcy and firings in the same role as Puterio.
Puterio could not be reached and the News did not return calls.
